Using Character Counts

Group Time - Respect & Citizenship

Blocks - remind students of the six pillars of character: Trustworthiness Responsibility Respect Fairness Citizenship Caring When a student loses the green block it is a warning, a yellow is 5 minutes off recess, the second yellow is 10 minutes off recess and losing the red means a note home and a trip to the office.

Positive Reinforcement in the form of the bubble gum machine poster - reinforce the six pillars of character. By “catching” students following the six traits they earn a bubble gum for the whole class. When the chart is full the class earns a reward.
