The Classroom

The classroom environment should be made up of a classroom community where the students feel comfortable being in the classroom, feel at ease working and sharing with others in the classroom and are able to problem solve with one another. I believe that it is best for the classroom to feel comfortable for the students because if they feel at home in the classroom, the better they will feel about being at school and learning. Additionally, it is important for students to feel at ease in the classroom so they will feel confident enough to take risks with their learning. For instance, there are several research based reading strategies that will only work well if the classroom environment promotes a level of safety.
